Tapping Your Potential
Are you filled with
unused potential? I know I am. The other day I was writing a letter to
a friend and I wrote the words “I know I’ve only scratched the surface
of my incredible potential.” As soon as I wrote those words I was
struck by the truth in them. I’ve only scratched the surface! What an
incredibly exciting concept. If this wonderful beautiful life is only
the surface, what will I find beneath that surface when I use my
potential and dig deeper?
Are you only
scratching the surface of your potential? Do you want to dig deeper
into your potential this year? This is exciting stuff! Where do you
want to be by the end of the year? More importantly, who do you
want to be? When you look in the mirror 12 months from now do you hope
to see the same person thinking the same things, living the same life?
Or, do you hope to be a new improved version of the already wonderful
you?
Wherever you are
with your life right now, you have far greater potential. So, what are
you going to do to reach your greater potential this year? It sounds
like a big job but really it consists of only a few small changes.
Our lives are a
series of small steps taken daily. Small steps that we take over and
over become our habits. When we change a habit we change our lives. A
small change can have a large impact if it is followed over and over
again until it becomes a habit. What are your daily habits? Which
habits are working for you and which are working against you?
Our world will
change when we determine to work on us. To work on developing better
habits. Small things like getting regular exercise. Things like taking
15 minutes every morning to read or listen to something uplifting at the
start of every day. Great habits such as setting daily, weekly and
monthly goals. Habits like celebrating successes each night before we
sleep.
What are some of the
habits that you would like to work on to tap into your unused
potential? What habits do you have that are benefiting you? What
habits could you develop that would take your life to the next level?
The famous philosopher, Jim Rohn wrote, “What you become is far more
important than what you get. What you get will be influenced by what
you become.” Look to someone who has the qualities you wish to grow in
yourself. What are their habits? It’s the small things that make the
difference.
I find in my life
that the quickest, most productive way to change my life is to change
something about me. Our lives are formed by the daily habits we have.
Change one little habit and it could begin to send you in a whole new
direction.
Right now, stop and
think about the beneficial habits you want to form in your life. Today
is a great day to start! It’s so exciting to think about all that you
and I will accomplish when we begin doing more than just scratch the
surface of our incredible potential!

Your Continued Success,
