YOUnique
Today as I was
traveling I saw something that made me pause to think. I saw a large
group of small black birds that were flying in one direction when they
met in mid air with a small group of black birds that were flying in the
opposite direction. A few of the birds from the smaller group seemed to
stop in mid-air and turn around and follow the larger group.
It was as if they
said “that’s a larger group of birds, they must have a better plan than
we do.” So, they followed. I couldn’t help but wonder what would
happen if the large group they had just joined came across an even
larger group going the other way. Would those little joiners again feel
compelled to change course? Would they keep changing course over and
over again until they tired themselves out and landed without ever
really getting anywhere?
Many of us have
been doing a similar exercise in our own lives. We’re going along. We
know where we are headed but if too many people are going the other way
we begin to second guess. We think we may be wrong. Sometimes we think
that if more people are doing something else they must be right.
If you know where
you are going hold your ground and know what you are doing is right for
you. If you’re unsure of where you are going with your life,
stop right now and figure it out. Don’t keep changing course every time
something popular comes along. Don’t be afraid to flow against the
current. Many times, the place the crowd is headed is not the best
place to be.
Don’t follow the
trends. Be you. Be the best you can be. Keep going your own unique
direction. The world is filled with followers. Break away, be you.
Beautiful, wonderful you.

Your Continued Success,
